Spring Break!!!

Maryland has some what of a spring break...Jax is out for a few days! Today we sent AB to school and had a date day. Even though I dragged him to work 4 classes, made him clean windows, hold doors and give stamps-he still had a great day!

We saw the Croods...we ate popcorn for lunch and ice cream after that! We went to the library and stopped by to see Hannah too.

I will tell you though, Jaxson is THE loudest person in the theater...he laughs out loud, he say 'AWWWW' alot too.. It's the funniest thing. You can just tell he's having a blast. Made me LOL too. Love that guy indeed! He is a keeper!

LOVE is all we need.

A status on Facebook today, I felt I wanted to share!  I like it.  and no I don't need to "share" it on Facebook because all 400 of my "friends" there are not actually ALL my "friends"...if you see it here it is because you want to to be here and if you don't - well see ya!  

This guy says it just right.  Love is all we need, y'all!  I don't care if you are gay, or straight, or black, or white, or ugly- I LOVE you, I truly do...  Just sayin...

A few thoughts on Equality. (It's one of those long awkward "Christian" statuses. Beware)

As I see all the red equality signs pop up on my feed today, I'm noticing that I'm not hearing a lot of acknowledgment from the Christian community. And as cliche as this has become in our country, I feel like as a Christian, I'm seriously wondering what Jesus would do if he were here in this situation right now. I still don't have that answer, but what I do know is that He would not stay silent.

But here's the thing. I think we are misread a lot as Christians. Our homosexual brothers and sisters are NOT the only ones who are stereotyped, judged, and oppressed. The other day, I invited a gay friend of mine to church, not because he's gay, but because he's my brother. He replied with "Well I can't, because I'm gay, which means I'm going to Hell." Granted, this was said mildly sarcastic, but there's a bit of truth to every joke, isn't there?

The people we call "Christians" tend to go to 2 different extremes on this issue. They either A) Stand on a street corner and scream loudly while holding a sign, or B) Shrink back into our sheep-pens with the rest of the sheep and say nothing out of confusion or fear. I have found no in-between. And I'm guessing that this in-between, this tension, is where Jesus hung out daily. Do we really believe that Jesus would have stood on a street corner holding a sign that says "God Hates Fags?" Do we believe that Jesus would have simply hid in his church while an "equality" rally was going on outside? Shame on us.

Apparently, if you're FOR gay marriage, you're going to hell, and if you're AGAINST gay marriage, you're ignorant, old, and outdated. Do we really listen to how we sound sometimes? Shame on us.

There is another way. To my Christian brothers and sisters: stop being stagnant about this. I know you don't agree with homosexuality. I personally plan to marry one woman and love her for the rest of eternity, and cannot see another way of life intended for us than that. But newsflash: God never gave us the command to "agree" or "disagree" with things of this world. God doesn't care what our stand is on homosexuality, or abortion, or the legalization of marijuana, or who we voted for. God gave us the command to love each other. That's it. THAT'S. IT. That's our job.

And to my LGBT brothers and sisters: just like you say to us, please don't judge a book by its cover. Equality is great. Equality is amazing. But even though you're striving so hard for it, just know you already have it. Even if it doesn't feel that way. You already have it. Rest in that. And if you've ever felt judged or dismissed by the church in any way, than I'm sorry that you were horribly mislead. I'm sorry for whatever so-called "Christians" made you feel that way. That is not who our God is. Our God is the pure manifestation of love. He is kind. He is unwavering. He is strong. And He is for EVERYONE. My prayer today is that you may feel His presence in every breathe, every conversation, every tree, and every thought. And if you're still uneasy about this whole thing, then let me take you to coffee. (I'm serious) Not to "convert" you, but to hear your story.

We are all God's children. We are brothers and sisters. Let us not focus on making it a point to prove to our brother that we are right. Let us not focus on making it a point to convince our sister that she is wrong. Let us simply focus on being what we already are. Children of God.

Work it girl...

I think I can, I think I can, I KNOW I CAN!! 13.1...say whaaa?! Training and training is the name of my game these days. It is so crazy how I see 3 miles on the training schedule and I'm like aww that's cake. Last year I could barely do 3 miles.. Barely..seriously! When I see "cross train" (meaning something other than running) on the training schedule I do a little jig!!!

Today was cross train so I went with a friend to Zumba. Very fun! Reminded me of the club days...except there was no alcohol and my body doesn't move like it once did! I was quite proud that I only knocked down one chair that got in my way and I swallowed my gum..don't worry I didn't choke. It was quite smooth considering how that could have ended. Now only 7 years til I get rid of that bad boy...or a gum tree?!

I also reunited with MyFitnessPal app.. If you don't already have it-get it! It's awesome and we can be friends and nudge each other if we get inactive! It logs daily calories, exercise, etc. My name is rockinrobynw- see you there!

When coughing strikes..

As in previous post mentioned I AM running a half marathon in about 6 weeks. The last 3 weeks have been great! I totally surprised myself.. I can do it! I know I can!!

Then ...Wouldn't you know week 3 I would get sick?!

Last week I loved and hated at the same time. While we had a lot of family in town it was a great non stop time. It wouldn't have been near as fun to not have a least one sickie in the group. Last week it was Jaxson, he had the coughs, in which he gets a couple times a year no big deal right. Keep him home and sitting as much as possible, a couple sleepless nights and we are good. Well come Wednesday we were not so lucky! He had developed pneumonia. By Friday he was on the upswing but then I went down. Fever, cough, cough, hack, hack! Like the deep down nasty cough that just plain hurts! I have not ran in a week. What does that mean for my training I worry but after reading article, after article online I have come to the conclusion that it's best I just don't run until the cough is gone. If that means no running for 2 weeks so be it. Total suck!! Who says I can't train for a half in 4 weeks?! I'll let you know how that goes...

A Royal Birthday!

Miss Annabelly turned 4 this week! It was quite enchanted and might I say AWESOME!! We invited Princess Belle herself to this royal day! I might have been more excited than Annabelle.
Although, when she walked in AB was stunned and incredibly excited herself! She threw her chair down and just hugged her.. She did not want to let go. It was the sweetest thing you ever did see- and YES, I cried. It was so magical!

Happy Birthday my precious princess! I love you too much!!

Family Fun at its Best!

This week in Texas means Spring Break there for we get visitors! We are honored by all the family and friends that come to visit. It's a great time.. If you have not come to see us.. Whatcha waiting' for?

Randomly got a spur up my a** today... I mentioned to Corey that maybe I wanted to run the Frederick Half Marathon.. Needless to say he was pumped. I texted my running partner bright and early...with a little coaxing she said yes!!! She probably thought I was still tipsy from our margarita date last night.. Or maybe too much coffee today?? Whichever it is WE ARE Doin' it!!!
So here goes nothing...
